Wild blackberries abound along the trail
I leave the path, my eye on a large, lovely-looking berry
The prickly weeds and cling-ons find me
Do what damage they can
I fill my cupped hand
We share the harvest
Oblivious to the scratches and cuts
Drunken with sun-warmed bounty
Canada Day. Camping with friends. S'mores. Skunks and raccoons (Seth was terrified). I took my baggy eyes and Annalise home to sleep- skipping the delights of a tent.
Annalise continues to be adorable.
