Week 29 (JANE)

We went to the Fort for the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812.

A "tall ship" called the Welcome docked at the Marina.  The girls and I had a tour - tried on hats, held weapons, learned some history & terminology.

Soccer continues this week...

Mom & I took a group of kids raspberry picking near Thessalon.

The girls were invited to a high tea with Heidi & Elora.

We go to the beach daily- the water slide is a big hit this year.

Emma was at Girl's Camp near Sudbury this week.

The Wildman store is open for business.  David hadn't earned anything so he got creative and the other's actually took pity on him and donated.

Week 29 (Megan)

Samuel the climber, prefers the more challenging method to the stairs.

Nothing like a hammock by the beach.
Will relaxing after a job interview.
Heidi sent out invitations to Elora, Abbie and Grace for a tea party.

The event planners and organizers.
Elora, Me,  Mom/Grandma, and Heidi

The faithful fishermen.

Samuel is a fashion guru.
He sports many different pairs of shoes, heels included, on a daily basis.
The helmet and hanger are new additions.

Micah had his time to stay alone with Grandma and Grandpa this week.  In his three days of holidaying he: went for a bike ride with Grandpa, went for ice cream with Grandpa, played at the beach with cousins, got a black eye while playing like crazy in the water with older cousins/friends(he didn't seem to mind) and he picked up the virus responsible for hand, foot, and mouth diasease.
Grandma watched "Alice In Wonderland" with him and let him choose his own treats at the store.
His favourite part of his vacation was going with Grandma to the historic fort for a re-enactment of events around the war of 1812.  While there, he was given an Indian arrowhead(which he is now wearing around his neck) and a wooden toy musket. He enjoyed learning about Courier DuBois and the soldiers, he was quite engrossed in it all.
I could tell he soaked up the one on one time with Grandma and Grandpa and enjoyed being doted on just a little.

Here's to an outstanding set of Grandparents!   Thank you for making wonderful memories with your Grandchildren that will be with them forever.  They love you and we love and appreciate all you do to assist us in raising extraordinary children!

Week 28 (Megan)

Local strawberries, blueberries and raspberries- heavenly.

My favourite berry in the world.

Introducing the assistant berry pickers:

tuckered

flushed

Samuel enjoyed walking along the berry patches and sampling everything.  He ate about one pint of rasperries himself!
I didn't get a picture of Micah, but he is a very hard worker and picks almost as well as an adult.  Nice to have help.

Week 28

Remember last summer when Seth refused to take off his superman shirt?
His adoration continues.

He likes to choose his own clothes and loves to accessorize- a tie, a vest, sunglasses, this lovely red superman cape.
He often wears his cape to church over his dress shirt and tie. He goes for the cape when he wants to look special.
It's adorable.

We journeyed to Palmyra to see pageant.
Mike and I have been to all the historical sites, but pageant was a first for us. I liked the volcano/earthquake scene the best.

Guess who we met there?

Love these guys!

July has been a month of hot beach days and soccer filled evenings:

Megan and the kids have been visiting this week - more fun beach days!

Week 27 in Pictures (Jane)

Four kids on the diving rock at their various comfort levels.  Grace's comfort level was to simply stay in the boat.

Sun-kissed, wind-blown and water-logged.  We love summer!

Emma made monogram oatmeal raisin cookies.  She is so fun - I would never have thought of it.

We went to an outdoor concert at the new bandstand that Jody designed.

Isaac at the concert.

David and Jody played tourist at the jail in the Landing.
